Swan’s down. Easterly lens <2013>
Flute double bass, Saxophone double bass, Tuba
“Swan’s down” was written for KontraTrio ensemble. The project was dedicated to anniversary of Stravinsky’s “Soldier’s tale” creation:
In my piece you can find some parallel (similarity) with Igor Stravinsky’s “Tale”: what I mean is Stravinsky in his “Tale” uses so-called “low” genre music elements – tango, waltz and ragtime, something that serious academic composers were trying to get rid of – in my case I feel some odd influence coming from pop music of absolutely different quality with its “sugar” melodies, overused harmonic sequences and love songs.
