The N’Caged Vocal Quartet presents a program of works by the leading masters of the Renaissance — Palestrina, Tallis, Arcadelt, and others, as well as contemporary composers — Alexei Sysoev, Vladimir Gorlinsky, and Dmitry Kurlyandsky — in the format of vocal music without accompaniment. What topics interested the authors then and now? How do they use the expressive possibilities of the vocal ensemble?

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

The vocal quartet N’Caged was founded by Arina Zvereva in 2013. The ensemble performs contemporary music and collaborates with leading contemporary Russian composers in opera and drama productions, concert programs, performances, and museum projects. In addition, the vocalists of the ensemble took part in concerts at the Moscow International House of Music and interpretations of the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre. The head of the ensemble is Arina Zvereva, winner of the Golden Mask special award “For the deep disclosure of the musical and artistic image, as well as for the development and expansion of modern vocal techniques.”
